FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Membership

How does the membership scheme work?

The membership scheme makes football financially accessible for our players by spreading the cost across 10 months of the year. This helps the club to budget for new equipment and facility improvements as well as allowing parents to budget around their children’s activities. We no longer charge a signing on fee of admission to our player centred events. The payments are taken by direct debit, giving you peace of mind and banking security. Our membership manager is Lisa Day.

Do I get a refund if matches are cancelled?

The monthly membership fee is not a match subscription, it is a fee that our members pay to be part of the club for the season. The monies go towards a variety of things, but include, playing kit, balls and equipment, pitch maintenance and referees.

Who decides how the membership fees are spent?

The club is run as a charity , registered with and governed by the charities commission. The trustees of the charity are all volunteers, many with other roles at the football club and these are the people with responsibility for spending the money on behalf of the members. The annual accounts are posted at companies house and with the charities commission. We also hold an AGM every year that members and parents are free to attend and ask any questions that they may have.

Fairness and Game Time

What if my child isn't getting fair playing time?

All of our coaches are Licensed by the FA and will have completed courses that enable them to understand the individual development needs of players. If you feel that these needs are not being addressed by the coaching team, please speak with them directly, or in confidence you can speak to any of the Child Welfare team. Football is an enjoyable pastime and we do everything possible to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for your child.

Can my child switch teams at Asfordby?

We run multiple teams at most age groups and whilst switching teams is not a regular occurrence, we will try and accommodate your request where possible. Please speak with your child’s current manager in the first instance.

I think my child may be being bullied by team mates?

If you think there is a problem within the team, please raise it urgently with the coach or manager. If it remains unresolved or you feel that the matter requires escalation, please speak to any of the Child Welfare Team who are specifically trained to deal with your concerns.
